Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
Day to day I am liasing with different team members (Producers, Directors, Editors) to assist them in the logistics of creating their films. This can include booking transport, hotels, filming locations, gaining filming permissions and sourcing camera kit.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I enjoy working with my team and working towards a finished product / film. However at times it can be quite stressful working to tight deadlines back to back!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have learnt a lot about the TV industry and how much work goes on behind the scenes. I have developed skills in managing working on multiple projects at once, communicating with lots of internal and external teams and always having a contigency plan in place.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
My divide between my college placement and on the job training works well, as I do 6 weeks on placement and 1 week in college. This makes it a fair divide in time.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

4/5
I have gone between teams so support can vary, but my main manager is very supportive of my development.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
The team at Sgil Cymru are very supportive and on the ball with assisting us in our work towards our qualification.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
It was great to have some basic training and understanding of the job role before starting my on the job placement

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

3/5
There are extra-curricular activities available to do, however, I find it hard to get involved as I am very busy on my placement.
