Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Performed in different business areas as a part of natural rotation in the business.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining schedules in P6.
- Production and analysis of schedule data to then report up to PMO and leadership teams.
- Financial and costs analysis against EPP proposal.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have had a varied experience within this role depending on programme, however, overall experience has been very positive with lots of support in both personal development, as well as functional work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Developed the below skills:
- Advanced Project Management Practice
- Report Writing
- Project Planning in P6
- Detailed Financial Analytical Skills
- Innovative Thinking
- Stakeholder Management
- Time Management
- Attention to Detail

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Current Programme has gone through extensive reshaping due to contract agreements and internal/ external organisation structures.
Current team is highly detailed in their knowledge, as well as being transparent and adaptive to change, also able to take time out of their day to support my development into new position.
Clear roles and responsibilities defined across different positions.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support from the company from both an educational perspective, as well as in-role support.
Engagement with line managers has always been very strong with genuine interest in progress and personal experiences.
Very knowledgeable employees who are always willing to share individual experiences and support learning within position.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Lots of employees have completed APMQ themselves so were willing to share previous exam questions and experiences. Additional support was offered from Management & HR who were regularly checking in on our progress and willing to listen to potential concerns.
Lots of support from LM in terms of PTO for university work, but no expensing of travel or food was allowed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Apprenticeship programme was poorly planned prior to onboarding into the position.
Selected University was underwhelming in terms of quality of education, teaching and general inspiration.
Responsibility fell onto students to properly prepare for exams as lessons were regularly online (not very engaging), and then in person lessons felt rushed and poorly structured with no clear goals.
Majority of learning came from personal experiences within the position itself, was not much cross over between the education and practical side.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Lots of small extra curricular activites such as weekly 5-aside, as well as annual 8-aside defence tournament. Strong relationships amongst teams encourages work socials (pubs, curry nights, trips to London). Additionally, end of apprenticeship graduation ceremony was a highlight.
However, end of year Christmas party is now underwhelming (only offered £25 per head in isolated environments) in comparison to whole company black tie dinner and drinks.
