Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis I am working on a bistro section of the kitchen making 2 dishes to be served to the customers throughout the day, while maintaining a clean and tidy work area and also making sure we have the stock required to complete my job daily.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I absolutely love my job and wouldn't change this, i changed from a tradesman to working in a kitchen and its honestly the best thing I have ever done and would highly recommend to other people if they were interested.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt everything I know from working with compass as i was a plasterer before joining compass, so the skills and knowledge they have granted me is unbelievable, going to masterclasses with celebrity chefs, going working at stadiums, competition in apprentice chef of the year and getting recognition from higher management is something I haven't experienced before.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The support from my trainer, the chefs within my kitchen, from Operation managers all the way up to the management of the apprentices team who keep in regular contact to ensure you are getting enough time to complete your portfolio and gather the skills required.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

All the support I need is provided if that's from my own head chef or from celebrity chefs who I have attended masterclasses with.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My trainer provided was excellent throughout if i had a question i could pick up the phone and call and would have the answer by the end of the day.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Everything i know from the kitchen is thanks to the team and the training provider so without them and the support I wouldn't be able to work daily and complete my tasks within a timely manner.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, i attended HRC with compass, masterclasses with Brynn Williams and Ollie Dabbous. Working at the stadiums. Apprentice chef of the year competition, training at cheshire cookery school.

Why?
The support and guidance you recieve from compass is nothing like i have experienced before and they want you to grow and push yourself to keep growing, i have asked if it is possible to go on to my level 3 once my level 2 is completed and they are fully supportive of this, the salary is very well paid also.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Compass group?
Fully go for the job and enjoy every moment as you will not look back and you will gain great friends, support and guidance from everyone you meet within the business.
