To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have only just started my program but i am really enjoying it so far. Its great to get to know other people outside of Pearson and learn something together.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, one month in and I have already learnt how to use Power Automate to automate workflows. Its really exciting to see this develop and learn more about this every month.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship at Pearson is very well organised. To start with there was a kickoff, where the Pearson apprenticeship team gave us additional information, separate to the apprenticeship provider, talking about apprenticeships at Pearson and what support we can access. This was very useful for the first few weeks for the Apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Pearson provides loads of support to me around apprenticeship there are ambassadors who are apprentices or have been apprentices themselves and so know a lot about the programme. Then we have our mentor which is separate of the apprenticeship provider mentor, who we can go to for support and who is a great resource to help give ideas on how to incorporate your learning into your role, and then finally my manager is very supportive and ensures I prioritise the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider also provides lots of support including a coach and a technical mentor. They always encourage us to reach out when we're struggling and they don't want us to fail!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am still very early on in my apprenticeship but I can already see opportunities where understanding AI workflows can support in my role. And not only in my role but generally across the whole team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

As Pearson are Members of the association of apprentices there are several professional networking events outside of Pearson for us to attend, in addition the Pearson apprenticeship team organised in-house events for us to meet in person and share ideas.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson?
Tips for people applying to Pearson would be to come prepared for any interviews and think about what the future of learning might hold and how that would impact Pearson. When applying make sure that you emphasise your knowledge around technology.
