Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves managing the relationships with what we called the unmanaged market of reselling partners in the B2B desktop monitor space. This involves direct communication with both reselling and distribution account managers, discussion of potential opportunities for Samsung Monitor as well as researching the market.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed my programme with Samsung Electronics. I believe that Samsung has aided me develop both professionally and personally and the support that I have recieved from the business has been second to none.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills as a result of my apprenticeship. The course that I undertook had a requirement of developing 41 specific Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs). These have centred around developing negotiation, commercial acumen, prospecting and qualification amongst many others. The completion of all of these have further increased my skillset and has aided my professional development.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme through both my employer and education provider has been very well structured. There has been a lot of communication amongst all relevant parties to ensure all bases are covered. The education provider has very well established systems to ensure that I develop into an effective worker.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

The Emerging Talent team within our organisation is second to none. They have ensured that the programme is well established throughout the business and that support is there for all employees enrolled in the programme. As well as this, the individual teams that I have worked with have supported me throughout my programme and have given me opportunity to develop and experience new things.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider has supported me a lot with working towards my qualifications. There was multiple review meetings to ensure that I have been on track to graduate. In addition to that, the seminars and workshops that I have attended have been thorough and have ensured that everything was completely understood.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The knowledge obtained from my qualification has helped me further myself in my job role. As previously mentioned the KSBs that I have developed over the last 3 years have help me further myself and push towards more sales. Furthermore, the workshops attended and the real life examples have helped give me a template of how I should be performing in my role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Samsung has plenty of extra-curricular activities to attend and take part-in. There are multiple employee resource groups to become a member of as well as multiple sports teams throughout the year.

Why?

The support I have received from Samsung has been excellent. They are an organisation that cares about their individual employees. Also, there have been many opportunities to develop within the business and it has helped me further myself.
