Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day i manage 27 members of staff from catering to cleaners to bar staff. We provide a breakfast, lunch & dinner service to the navy. I organise and run private dinner functions in the Mess along with contractual functions with historical meaning for the Navy too. I monitor the financeaspect, ensure we are being compliant with the contract we are on too.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the programme on learning how to become a more efficent and effective manager. to help develop myself but also my staff too. The away days are very interesting and i love networking with the other members on my course.

I have learnt new skills on how to managing my time along with how to read the financial plan etc clearer

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised and structured, we are aware of online courses and away days in plenty of notice. We were given a spread sheet of everything planned for the whole course. The tutors to support us are great along with keep in touch days to provide more support.

I have received support but at times the day to day business has had to come first before completing the course needed for the course.

To always speak honestly about what you want out of a career as this is what i did and then got put forward for the Level 5 Marcus Wareing Forward Excellent Service Programme
