Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Uploading data onto the computer daily, keeping track of accommodation in the unit. Serving of food restaurant style daily, ensuring the space is clean and tidy for customers. Carrying out stock takes daily and weekly. Supervising my team
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it in general, i always had a hard time learning and didn't really like it in school and college so doing an apprenticeship was a different way to boost my skills and knowledge and help me better my career with a qualification. I believe that more hands on activity would be beneficial to the way that i learn as sometimes reading and answering questions can become quite boring.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to manage my time more efficiently with having deadlines throughout my apprenticeship. I've also learnt the different types of leadership styles and I have figured out the way that i like to lead my team. I've learnt more about the behind the scenes and business itself, such as financial aspects that you wouldn't know front of house

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is quite structured and is easy to understand what is expected of you, sometimes i did get confused about certain things however my tutor was very supportive and helped me understand.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer was fully supportive of me completing this apprenticeship and she actually put me forward for doing it. She has allowed me to put some of the things i learnt into practice into the workplace and allowed me to use my job role to help aid my progression.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Fully supportive of me all the way through out the year. Anything i was unsure of she was more then happy to answer my questions. We had built quite a good relationship which didn't make it feel as though she was my trainer. She made everything easy to understand and didn't pressure or rush me if things were not completed in time
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has helped me be promoted to a supervisor in my job, I now know many back of house operations that i wasn't aware of previously. As i mentioned, I have taken things from my course and implemented them to my work place and i know how to manage a team better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I haven't really dived into this much myself, as it is on a military barracks they have their own social events and it is unprofessional for us at ESS to become involved, sometimes we support from the sidelines on the sport kind of activities. Im sure however, that my manager wouldn't be opposed to us making our own.

Yes
Why?
Compass are supportive of everyone on their team, I know HR are amazing and can always answer any questions that you have. I like how they pay everyone equally if you are doing the same job role so there is no discrimination at all. I also like how there is ways to climb the ladder and big careers in Compass
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Compass group?
To go and do the courses that they provide you with to better your knowledge, they are supportive and will always push everyone
