Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves data analysis tasks I have learned to do on the job. I have been in my position for six months and currently my role involves: pulling data for weekly/monthly reports, creating "one time" in depth reports, creating dashboards, attending meetings with stakeholders, and presenting and explaining data to stakeholders. As I continue to learn, my role will likely continue to evolve to include new and more complex tasks. I also have time set aside every week to attend workshops with my learning provider and complete the necessary learning and training for my apprenticeship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The BBC is a great place to do an apprenticeship. They truly value their apprentices and offer a lot of support to ensure their success. Additionally, I'm able to work closely with a senior data analyst as well as data analysts and apprentices in other teams. Being able to learn from multiple people who have varying experience, interests and specialties has been extremely useful to me in my journey to become a data analyst.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I started out having very little practical experience in my field, but within very little time I was able to participate in meetings and produce useful reports. I've also gotten a lot better at collaborating with colleagues as well as having the confidence to complete tasks myself.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

We have a dedicated day every week for our workshops, assignments, projects and any other apprenticeship related learning we wish to do. We were also given a schedule at the start of our apprenticeship which gave us the dates of any workshops and events, as well as when each of our modules would start and end.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We have fairly regular meetings with our apprenticeship coordinator who works closely with our learning provider to ensure everything is running smoothly.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have a learning coach as well as a data mentor who ensure we are on track with our learning, as well as helping us to plan our projects and write our portfolio.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Not everything we are being taught in our apprenticeship is relevant to my current role, but I can see how it could be useful in future roles where I may be required to work with different types of data.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have an apprentice community that has regular socials. I'm aware there are other social groups and events but I haven't participated personally.
