4/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I build TV schedules, review data sets for content on iPlayer, and write synopses for iPlayer content.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

2/5
The learning programme, whilst interesting, lacks passionate and enthusiastic teaching which makes it difficult to get stuck in. Given the vast amount of content required to learn, the teaching feels inadequate when taking this into consideration. The assignments are also rather mundane as the descriptors

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

3/5
I've learned how to use a wide range of software and online platforms that the BBC uses for operations through my job responsibilities. I have not learned anything new from my learning course.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
The structure of the course allows for the majority of modules to be finished early which allows for time to focus on the assignments. This works okay as I'm able to give my assignments the attention they require without having to dedicate extra study time to attending seminars. The assignments are spaced out enough that I feel I'm not overwhelmed by them.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive plenty of support from my line manager and the apprenticeship team. I have regular catch-ups to make sure that I'm staying on track.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I have regular catch-ups with my coach and I'm consistently offered support where necessary.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

1/5
I don't feel as though the course is similar to my job role at all.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
There are a range of networks to join and several social events.
