Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My day to day role involves supporting the Service Delivery Manager to ensure the services we support are up and running correctly each day. This includes managing problems, changes and incident tickets and ensuring we aren't at risk of breaching any Service Level Agreements. We also look after the monthly finances and report back any discrepancies, prepare monthly presentations for clients and work on internal projects to improve service stability.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I've really enjoyed the chartered management degree apprenticeship and I think it's a really good way to put into practice the theory and knowledge we learn throughout the university course, especially experiencing real scenario's at work which require us to problem solve, communicate with stakeholders or manage projects.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
The key skills I feel I've developed are around project and stakeholder management and the tools to use to manage projects effectively and different engagement methods for various stakeholders depending on their involvement. I also developed leadership skills and more of an understanding on how to manage different types of people within a team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is quite well structured and I have been able to book of study leave as required and can attend my weekly webinars and also all on campus days each term. The modules also tie in with what I do within my role making it an effective place to learn and develop skills on the job.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My employer has been really good with providing support. They've helped put me on projects relating to assignments or provided me with contacts to learn more about a certain topic. They also allocate me the time I need for study leave, webinars or on campus days.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
The support has generally been good, with lecturers being available for office hours or email queries.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
It's helped me build the theory/knowledge side such as the project management tools which I have been able to implement at work.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes there are social value groups to join, an office gym with group exercise sessions, specific Apprentice socials, networking events etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?

Yes

Why?

They're a good company that support development and there are lots of roles within the business to rotate in to build a knowledge of different areas of the business. They're supportive of Apprentices throughout the programme and put you in a good position to kick start your career.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?

My advice to other apprentices applying to Capgemini is to be yourself and show genuine enthusiasm for learning rather than trying to sound “perfect.” Capgemini values potential, curiosity, and a willingness to grow, so be ready to talk about what motivates you, how you’ve learned from challenges, and how you work with others. Do some research into the company’s values and the role you’re applying for, and link your answers back to real experiences, even if they’re from school, part-time work, or personal projects. Most importantly, stay confident, apprenticeships are about development, and Capgemini understands you’re there to learn.
