Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Capgemini?

Mostly good! I recive the accomodations I need and feel listened to most of the time. The pay is the only real downside.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My main responsibilities are creating POCs to showcase to stakeholders and liasing with relevant stakeholders to solve business problems. I enjoy the technical aspects the most, as I really enjoy the mathematical thinking required to code, as well as the creative thinking required to come up with solutions.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

3/5
I have opportunities to showcase my work to stakeholders, but I don't always feel like what I do is valued as much as other people. I am glad that I do a lot of different things often, and that I am constantly building my skills in business acumen, business architecture & data science due to the nature of my consultancy role on this particular client.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

2/5
When looking at the benefits packages available at other companies, what we get is minimal. And in light of recent changes, this has further been reduced. I also dislike that we must commit to opting into certain benefits for a full year.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I think the role is preparing me for my future career very well. It's helping me to identify the gaps in my knowledge, which I can then take the initiative to fill in. It's also helping to learn what I most enjoy, how to estimate time taken on work and how to create frameworks for myself so that the more challenging or repetitive tasks become easier over time.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
Very high, I'm constantly learniig & refining new technical skills.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

4/5
It's been okay. My line manager and other colleagues are very supportive, but I think that senior stakeholders could do more to show that they care about colleagues who struggle with disabilities, particularly neurodiversity.

How is your work-life balance?

5/5
Good.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
Great! People are friendly, kind, helpful and honest.

How would you rate Capgemini initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
They could do more to signpost new employees to spaces/resources for those who are in the LGBTQIA+ community, those who have disabilties and anyone else who fits into a minority group.

How would you rate Capgemini CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

3/5
They claim to have a commitment to closing the pay gap, but through initiatives like CFG, they hire experienced women & femmes but give some of them a salary that doesn't necessarily reflect their pay grade. Also, I don't see any real attention being placed on the environmental harms of generative AI.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?

Yes

Why?

It's a good place to start your tech career and upskill.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
It matched very well.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Capgemini?

To do research on their values, their recent work, who they sponsor and to be confident & friendly during the interview.
