Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
The primary focus of the role is to support project managers by analysing data, managing documentation, tracking progress, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. Working across different clients and industries, I would help enable effective decision-making and risk management within fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Additionally, the support from colleagues, managers, and mentors made the experience positive and motivating. The structured learning, combined with opportunities for personal and professional growth, kept me challenged while also feeling well supported. Overall, the programme met—and in many ways exceeded—my expectations, making it an experience I found highly enjoyable and worthwhile.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed strong project support and analytical skills, including tracking progress, managing documentation, and producing clear updates for stakeholders. My ability to analyse data, identify risks or issues, and support informed decision‑making has improved significantly through hands‑on project experience.
The programme has also strengthened my communication and stakeholder management skills. I am now more confident engaging with a range of audiences, contributing in meetings, and presenting information in a clear and structured way. Working within diverse teams has helped me adapt my communication style and collaborate more effectively.
In addition, I have enhanced key professional skills such as time management, organisation, and prioritisation, particularly when balancing work responsibilities alongside academic study. I have become more proactive, resilient, and comfortable working in fast‑paced environments with changing priorities.
Overall, the programme has played a key role in developing both my technical and soft skills, giving me greater confidence and preparing me well for future roles within project delivery and consultancy.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
The structure is clear from the outset, with well‑defined objectives, milestones, and expectations for both the workplace and academic elements. The balance between work responsibilities and study time is well managed, making it easier to plan ahead and stay on track. Regular check‑ins, progress reviews, and clearly scheduled learning activities help provide direction and ensure continued development.
The programme also benefits from having strong support mechanisms in place, including guidance from line managers, mentors, and learning providers. This makes it clear where to go for support and helps address any challenges promptly. While the programme is demanding at times, the structure helps manage workload effectively and ensures learning is progressive and aligned with real project experience.
Overall, the organisation of the programme has enabled a positive learning experience, supporting both professional growth and academic success.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
There is consistent guidance from my line manager and wider team, who provide regular check‑ins, clear expectations, and constructive feedback. This support helps me manage my workload effectively and continue developing in my role. I also feel comfortable asking questions or raising challenges, knowing that support is readily available when needed.
In addition, the organisation actively supports the learning element of the programme by protecting study time and encouraging the application of what I learn into day‑to‑day work. Access to mentors, colleagues, and internal resources has further supported both my professional and academic development.
Overall, the employer support has been strong, well‑structured, and has played a key role in making the programme a positive and successful experience.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
The training provider offers clear guidance on coursework, assessments, and deadlines, which helps me stay organised and confident in my progress. Learning materials are well structured and accessible, and sessions are delivered in a way that links theory directly to practical workplace experience. This makes the learning more engaging and easier to apply in my role.
I also receive regular contact and check‑ins from tutors or coaches, who are approachable and responsive when I need support or clarification. Feedback on assignments is constructive and timely, helping me understand areas of strength as well as where I can improve. When challenges arise, the training provider is supportive and proactive in helping find solutions.
Overall, the support from the training provider has been consistent, well‑coordinated, and essential in helping me successfully balance my work responsibilities with achieving my qualifications.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
The knowledge and frameworks provided through the training provider directly complement my day‑to‑day responsibilities. Concepts such as project planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and different delivery methodologies have helped me better understand the wider context of my work and make more informed contributions to projects. Being able to link theory to real examples from my role has improved both my confidence and the quality of my work.
The qualification has also strengthened my analytical and problem‑solving skills, enabling me to approach tasks more logically and proactively. Assignments encourage reflection on workplace activities, which has helped me identify areas for improvement and apply best‑practice approaches in real time.
Overall, the qualification has had a positive and practical impact on my performance, enhancing my understanding of project delivery, improving my effectiveness within teams, and supporting my ongoing development in the role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
There are social and wellbeing activities, such as team socials, local office events, and wellbeing initiatives, which help build strong relationships across teams and create a sense of community. These activities provide good opportunities to connect with colleagues outside of day‑to‑day project work.
In addition, there are professional and development‑focused opportunities, including networking events, internal communities, and knowledge‑sharing sessions. These allow employees to learn from others, share experiences, and broaden their professional network across the organisation.
There are also opportunities to get involved in employee networks, volunteering initiatives, and inclusion groups, which support personal interests while contributing positively to the wider organisation and community.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
Take time to understand Capgemini’s values, culture, and the work it does across different industries. Showing genuine interest in the organisation and its purpose helps you stand out and tailor your answers more effectively.
Highlight your willingness to learn
Capgemini places a strong emphasis on development, especially for early‑career roles and apprenticeships. Be honest about what you already know, but also show enthusiasm for learning new skills and adapting to new challenges.
Use real examples
When answering application or interview questions, use clear examples from your work, studies, or personal experiences. Focus on demonstrating skills such as teamwork, problem‑solving, communication, and resilience.
Show your people skills
Consulting is a people‑focused environment, so it’s important to show that you can work well with others, communicate clearly, and build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Be yourself and stay authentic
Capgemini values diversity and individuality. Being genuine about who you are, what motivates you, and what you’re looking for in a career will help ensure a good mutual fit.
Prepare, but don’t over‑rehearse
Preparation is important, but confidence and authenticity matter just as much. Be ready to talk about your experiences and interests naturally rather than delivering scripted answers.
I’d advise applicants to approach the process with confidence, curiosity, and an open mindset. Capgemini is looking for people who are motivated, collaborative, and eager to grow—not just those with perfect experience.
