Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
The role is a really great opportunity to learn and grow. I work on projects with a diverse team of people in both culture and roles. We often have daily calls to help define the tasks we will carry out for that day and also time to carry out our work independently or collaborate with team members. It has allowed to develop my skills as a designer and create better solutions to problems knowing the context of how the designs I'm improving upon will be used.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I am having a really great time working at Capgemini. The company culture is really positive and nice. Many of your seniors will always make sure you doing well and ensure you are able to balance your work/uni/life balance as they understand how intense it can be for a apprentice working full time, studying and juggling our social lives.
But, sometimes work can take over depending on your project and how busy it can get and be slightly stressful which usually is only temporary.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Capgemini is a great environment to learn and develop new or existing skills. In my case as a career pivot I was able to transform and develop my design skills to be more catered to UX which has been great. But you also have access to so many courses to help you learn new skills.
You also are able to apply the skills and knowledge you learn at university, which helps it become almost second nature to you.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
While, overall there is a great support and in my programme sometimes the technicalities and processes that have been in place don't always fit into the needs and work/uni/life balance as it is a very fine tight rope trying to manage it all.
Sometimes organisation can be little off as they can be last minute announcements or changes in processes that give us more admin to do, which can be a little tedious.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
my employer is very accommodating and very aware of my responsibilities as an apprentice and will often do their very best to try and give me the free time to complete university assignments.
They will also check in on our wellbeing and make sure we do not burn out from taking on too much at work.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
University try to accommodate us as best they can as they know we have a lot of responsibilities at work. They are very prompt to replying to our messages for assignment help and ours skills coach will also help up to find that balance and support that we need.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
As the digital user experience degree is very specific and my role as a UX designer, the knowledge I gain at university helps me understand the tasks we have to do at work and the benefits of them. It can also provide us with different or other methods that we can then suggest at work to try these processes and it could give us different or better results.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
We have many initiatives at work for networking and social activities. There also many opportunities internally at work where you can help create these extra-curricular activities too.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Capgemini is a great company to work at! As an apprentice or even as a graduate they provide a lot of support to their junior talent in helping us grow and develop our skills in our roles.
They have a great company culture, the teams I work in have been nothing but positive and supportive. It makes me happy when I see people in the office as we all have developed really good work friendships.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?

My biggest advice to applying other Capgemini is to show your passion for the role you are applying for! Your excitement, existing knowledge and determination to learn about what you want to do in your specific role you apply for will really help.
