Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

In the day to day, I work as a civil engineering technician, doing technical tasks for the projects I'm involved in to free up the more senior members of my team to engage more with client relations and technical excellence tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the practical aspects of my Apprenticeship programme; being someone who enjoys learning by doing the most, I appreciate the theoretical learning at university then being backed up by my practical learnings in my role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've greatly increased my skillset since starting this apprenticeship programme in everything from technical knowledge of industry standards to professional etiquette and client management.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is organised with me going to university one day a week, and working in my role the other four days. My learnings at university are split across two years, at the end of which I will submit an End Point Assessment (EPA).
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is extremely supportive in terms of financially supporting me in my programme, providing the necessary training outside of university, and making sure my mental health is in a good place as well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have periodic reviews with my training provider to make sure I'm on track with my programme, and giving suggestions as to how I can continue to improve professionally.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

So far, my qualification has not added much in terms of technical knowledge and skills for me to use, although it has helped to provide me with a wider perspective and context of the industry. I hope that in the time that is left before I obtain my qualification, the programme will teach me more technical skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are many extracurricular activities provided at my work, from sports and social events to corporate social responsibility opportunities. Personally, I have joined my office Badminton team, and have in the past joined a couple of charity events.
