Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My role involves providing technical support to both external customers and internal colleagues. On a daily basis, I answer technical queries via phone and email, I test instruments, replicate reported faults, and document findings. I also create technical documents and support materials to improve internal knowledge and response times. This work ensures efficient accurate resolutions, reduces repeat issues, and supports consistent customer service across the business.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship at Megger. The role has built my technical knowledge through direct exposure to real customer issues and hands on testing of equipment. I deal with a wide range of queries, which forces me to think critically and improve my problem solving skills. The mix of customer interaction, technical work and practical testing keeps the role varied and engaging. It has also vastly improved my communication skills, especially when explaining complex issues in a clear way to customers and colleagues.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
During my apprenticeship, I have developed new skills and improved existing ones. My technical knowledge has grown through testing equipment and diagnosing faults. My problem solving has improved by handling a wide range of queries and identifying root causes. My communication has become clearer when explaining issues to customers and colleagues. I have also improved how I organise my resources to manage and prioritise multiple queries

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is well organised and structured. I have been given clear deadlines for tasks, which helps me plan my workload and stay on track. The work is set out in a logical order, so I can build knowledge step by step. This structure makes it easy to manage alongside my day to day role.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer. My team leader plays a key role by providing clear guidance, regular feedback, and consistent one to one support. He helps me work through technical issues, improves my approach to problem solving, and ensures I stay on track with both my role and apprenticeship work. The company also provides strong support through resources, training, and employee benefits, which allows me to perform effectively in my role.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive regular support from my training provider through scheduled progress reviews, coursework guidance, and feedback on assignments. They help me stay on track with my apprenticeship requirements and ensure I am meeting the standards needed for my qualification.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

5/5
My customer service qualification strongly supports my role. It has improved how I communicate with customers, especially when handling technical queries clearly and professionally. It has strengthened my ability to stay calm under pressure, escalate issues when needed, and give clear structured responses to resolve queries efficiently. The skills gained directly apply to my day to day work and have improved the quality and consistency of my customer support.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes, there is football training every Friday for the upcoming charity match at Dover's stadium.
As well as this, I have attended a department dinner. These activities support team connection and communication. I have not been heavily involved beyond this yet due to focusing on my apprenticeship, but I am open to taking part more as I progress in my role.
