Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

In my role I was part of the joining team, looking at current and future joining solutions for JLR cars. On a day-to-day I had a variety of tasks, from lab test work to supplier visits and I was able to support on a variety of projects which I really enjoyed.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

At the start of my placement I was thrown into work, supporting on projects where I could learn valuable skills. Later in the placement I took a lead role in a project of my own.

Yes, I have learnt a lot of new lab skills and learnt a new CAD software.

Whenever I had a question or was unsure on how to complete a task there was always a someone I could ask and they were always more than happy to help.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

There is a really positive culture in JLR. Very inclusive and lots of social opportunities especially within the early careers space. There is a whole early careers network for Undergrads, Grads and Apprentices which organises socials, trips as well as summer and winter balls.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have absolutely loved this placement. I have learnt so much, had many work opportunities and was given the space to grow both personally and in my placement role.
