Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I’d strongly recommend IBM to a friend because it’s given me the opportunity to kickstart my career at a really young age. As an apprentice, I’ve been trusted with real responsibility from the start, worked across different projects and learned directly from experienced colleagues who are genuinely supportive.
The balance of hands-on experience and structured learning has helped me build confidence and develop practical skills. IBM also has a big foundation community, which means you’re surrounded by a wide network of people in similar positions - making it easier to share experiences and learn from others going through the same journey.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
My biggest advice would be to show a genuine willingness to learn. IBM isn’t looking for people who know everything already - they value curiosity and how you approach challenges. When applying, try to give real examples of times you’ve taken initiative, worked with others, or solved problems, even if they’re from school or part-time work. Also, take some time to understand IBM’s values and think about how you align with them - that can really help you stand out.
