Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Avery Healthcare Group?
I’ve had a really positive experience at Avery Healthcare. The organisation is supportive and forward-thinking when it comes to learning and development, and there’s a clear focus on improving the experience for both residents and team members. It’s a great environment to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful projects.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My role focuses on designing and developing digital learning content, including eLearning modules, resources, and training materials. I work closely with stakeholders to turn complex information into engaging, accessible learning experiences.
The part I enjoy most is the creative side of the role — building interactive content and seeing how it can make learning clearer and more engaging for the team. It’s also rewarding to know the work supports real improvements in practice.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
I feel that my work is valued, particularly when learning solutions are used across the organisation. There’s a collaborative approach within the team, and input is encouraged, which makes it easier to contribute ideas and feel part of wider improvements.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
The package is fair and reflects the responsibilities of the role. The most valuable aspects are the opportunities for development, access to learning tools, and the ability to work on a variety of meaningful projects. These benefits support both professional growth and job satisfaction.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
The role is preparing me really well for my future career in digital learning design. Alongside my day-to-day work, I’m also completing a Level 5 Digital Learning Designer apprenticeship, which complements the role perfectly. It allows me to apply what I’m learning in real time, build practical experience, and develop a strong foundation in both theory and practice.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
There are strong opportunities to develop both through formal training and day-to-day work. My Level 5 Digital Learning Designer apprenticeship has been particularly valuable, as it allows me to apply new knowledge directly into real projects. Alongside this, I’ve continued to build on my design, technical, and stakeholder skills through practical experience, which has supported my overall development.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
The support has been really strong across the board. My line manager is approachable and provides clear guidance, while also giving me the space to take ownership of my work. There’s also good support from the wider team when needed, and I’ve found that people are always willing to help or share knowledge. Alongside this, my apprenticeship adds another layer of support and structure to my development.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
My work-life balance is very good. There’s a clear understanding of workload and priorities, and I feel able to manage my time effectively. The role allows for a healthy balance between work and personal time, which supports both wellbeing and productivity.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
The culture is supportive, welcoming, and team-focused. There’s a strong emphasis on care, respect, and professionalism, which comes through in day-to-day interactions. It feels like a positive environment where people are approachable and collaboration is encouraged.
How would you rate Avery Healthcare Group initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
Avery demonstrates a clear commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. There is a respectful and inclusive environment, and initiatives are in place to support this. There are opportunities to continue building on this, but overall it’s clear that it’s an important focus for the organisation.
How would you rate Avery Healthcare Group CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
There is a good level of awareness around CSR, particularly in relation to community engagement and supporting residents’ wellbeing. While some initiatives may be more visible in certain areas than others, it’s clear that there is a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.
