Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
The L&D Manager role includes managing a team of L&D facilitators across the region, covering the induction and immediate learning needs of all new starters and existing team member refresher needs across 30 services. The day-to-day aspects of the role include the support and development of the facilitators within their roles, management of their individual needs, and guiding the team towards our shared goals. Other key aspects include conduction learning needs analysis within each of the services and working closely with service managers and regional directors to ensure training compliance across the region.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have been given the opportunity to study the Level 5 People Professional CIPD qualification, and although I am only a short way into my studies I am already finding this very useful to my role, expanding my reading habits and knowledge. I love to learn and am finding this programme very enjoyable to far.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Although I am only a short way into my studies I am already seeing movement and stretch in my skills development, supported by my manager. It has been useful to revisit theories and management skills, as I undertake this programme of study and to embed and develop these further. Along with gaining new knowledge in how our roles as People Professionals work within my organisation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme has been well organised so far, with clear aims and structure. I can see where my studies fit in with my role and there are clear expectations and support provided as I learn on the job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Brilliant support so far from the company and my line manager. I am only a short way into my apprenticeship with my employer ensuring all aspects have run smoothly from application, enrolment, times to access inductions and workshops, plus regular check-in meetings with my line manager to review current workload, projects and progress.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Great support from the training providers team of tutors, who have all been available and accessible whenever I have need any queries answering. Feedback on any completed work items has been timely, clear and constructive. When my lead tutor changed the transition to new tutor was communicated clearly and introductions made, to ensure there was continuity of support provided.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
So far I feel this qualification was a good fit to expand my knowledge and skills within my role. I feel I have begun to expand my wider organisational understanding and where my People Professional role fits, influences and has vital importance within my workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Over the years there have been many different extra-curricular activities available to get involved in. For example I have been part of regional hiking clubs and was part of a national company choir in the past. Our individual services often have social events which are open beyond their service team, for those who may want to participate. As a company we have national conferences and events for company managers, which has included a range of social activities for attendees to choose from.
