Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role consists of managing my team alongside the managers as well as keeping the shop running smoothly. I manage stock control, provide great customer service to our customers, ensure we meet all compliance standards, run the stores social media and much more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I couldn’t enjoy my role more! I previously completed a level 2 with Superdrug and loved it so much I decided to stay for a level 3! I was unsure about the job role I wanted for the future and saw that Superdrug did apprenticeships and it was the best decision I’ve made joining my team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I was always a very shy individual but since being here my overall confidence has improved massively with social situations and problem solving. I can now tackle tasks independently with full confidence that I’m making the right decisions and can run my store alone which is a massive difference from when I first started.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I’ve had full support from my assessor from the very beginning where I found out who to contact for certain issues if they occurred, who to ask for help and online training I can do if I’m stuck. Its been very well organized with everything being either via online training on in-person support from my manager
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive full support via different networks in the company. My assessor, manager, my team, area manager and many more have had full support in me from day one and answered any questions I have had.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The perfect amount. I have many people around me that can help me with any questions and issues that I have with my training which helps towards completion.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Amazingly. All the training I have learnt has helped me deal with real life situations in the workplace and outside.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have team meals out to celebrate events, we win prizes throughout the year for certain competitions and we all keep in contact.

Choosing to work here has been one of the best decisions I have made! My team and I are all so close and having a workplace where you’re supported and feel comfortable with is so important!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Superdrug?
Have confidence in yourself! You will learn so much and it may feel overwhelming to begin with but you will put everything into practice.
