The role changes depending on our placements but my main role involves supporting the cyber security team in responding to alerts, reports, and user queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It's amazing! The variety of experience we are able to gain is so valuable as we can move around so many different teams and really understand how the business works.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learnt a combination of soft skills and technical skills throughout the apprenticeship so far, including public speaking, incident response, and stakeholder management.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Our programme is very well structured, with teams ready to accept and support apprentices. We are part of a rotor system so we can all experience the different areas whilst completing our degree.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We receive as much support as we need from our employer and colleagues; if we need something, there are so many people around to always offer help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Our coaches at our training provider are super helpful with answering any of our questions and offering extra support if we need it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Our qualification has taught us about technical writing and ways of sharing information that can be used in our daily work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are so many extra-curricular activities at work for example, schools outreach, sports teams, and other social clubs which are open for anyone to get involved with.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend MBDA to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The experience is so valuable - it's a great company to have your first job at. The teams are so friendly, welcoming, and supportive so you never feel like "an apprentice". Our annual performance based pay reviews are a great incentive to work hard in the workplace and at university.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MBDA?
Just go for it! It's a great community and environment to work in. Do some research before applying so you're prepared for the interviews, and always ask questions at the end!
