Overall, how would you describe your experience at JLR?
Great fun, always wanted to work on cars and now I can through the grad scheme.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Vehicle testing never gets old - especially when you try some new features or some high speed laps around the proving ground.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I create automation tools that are used in my team and some of the surrounding desks. On the days where I commute to work I can see my tools being used in the office.

Getting used to working near cars and on vehicle software which is exactly what I want to do in future.

Plenty of opportunity to learn through formal training. A lot of work will leave you to learn on your own which I don't mind as it gives me freedom to develop software tools in the way that I want.

Any time I have an issue I contact my immediate manager and the problem is either solved immediately or my manager will fight for me to get me the help I need.

Working from home allows me to save much time on my morning commute so im not tired throughout the day and can keep my social life at home.

Super welcoming. Never had a question unanswered - everyone always knows who to contact if they don't know answers themselves.

Plenty of initiatives that roll out through the year. Many events on site where you can celebrate culture and learn new skills (or recipes)

Although I haven't been a part of these initiatives I have seen the impact of the recycled plastic lanyards and can say that JLR is committed to social responsibility.

Yes
Why?
I've made friends here and don't see anyone feeling left out - all people can be included in conversation. The early careers team is super social and will help you find your place.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

Although I mostly do software engineering like I expected. There are some tasks which aren't relevant to my degree which don't feel like they would fall under my responsibility.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to JLR?
Research what the company does and make sure to have a positive attitude to the whole interview process. I was having a great time in my interviews - joking around and plenty of smiles.
Sustainability and BEVs are important to the company now so more research around those areas helps.
