Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is to lead the operations team of a golf tour operator is St Andrews. I empower a team of 20 to build and deliver these tours across multiple departments. Wearing many hats my main role is to encourage the team to be best they can be, delivering great tours and focusing on their growth and development.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The level 5 course was an enjoyable program. I enjoyed working with my peers from other venues and sectors, learning off them and sharing experiences. The set up of the apprentaship was well thought out, gave balance and also delivered a challange.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I felt the apprentaship really helped grow existing skills but also opened up new tools to my management style. The biggest growth i saw in myself was the understanding of the theory behind what i do. This has given me great confidence in myself but has also reshaped how i lead a little.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The structure was well thought out, from time to time their would be a slight impact in my day to day role trying to manage the time to deliver in my primary role and travel to workshops however both my line manager and my tutor were understanding and supported me through it well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Compass were extremely supportive of my apprentaship. I felt they were invested in my progress and there was genuine care in check ins.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My tutor was fantastic. he knew when to back off and trust i would get the work done properly during busy delivery times. he was also always available to approach for advice and knowledge when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The biggest thing the course gave me was self confidence. Its something i have always had however having a greater understanding of the skills to be a better leader for my team and represent the business better than i did before.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My work regularly requires me to represent the business.
