The company has Business Resource groups which is colleague-led typically organized around a particular dimension of diversity or shared background. They organize events and talks, it is easy to join in and a great way to connect with other colleagues. The team took us out for lunch and organized social for the whole team. They also have some sports clubs like netball. If you worked there full time, it would be easy to get involved.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
The internship was a great learning opportunity for me to learn about the industry and the role of brokers, actuaries and Lloyd's. The team were open for me to ask questions and explore not only my team but other teams and roles around Aon. There were lots of interns to network with and talk about their experiences and work. I also enjoyed speaking to people in my team and about their careers and how they ended up in the jobs they are doing.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Aon
Everyone of my team say people normally fall into insurance industry rather than always wanting to do it. They don't expect you to know much about the industry but they want you to have done some research about Aon. In interviews, they are much more interested by your soft skills. Aon offer insights which can be a great way to fast-track to a summer internship without having to do all the tests and video interviews.
