Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Broking deals between insurers and firms day to day, going to markets to negotiate the best terms on premiums, building relationships with insurers and undewriters in order to achieve the best results for clients.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, definitely was trusted to complete tasks on my own and checked in with my team often. Had great support and an understanding workforce to help me when I was stuck!

Received a lot of support from surrounding team and the senior leadership. Always felt comfortable to ask for help! Line manager was very involved and very eager to help me achieve my goals!

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture was very inclusive and also very understanding of the different backgrounds and situations all interns and staff come from. This made building relationships easy as everyone was genuinely a very nice person. Very quickly became included in social opportunities that helped me bond with team. Diverse initiatives such as Business resources groups and multicultural network to fit the needs and provide support to different varied groups of staff with differing needs.
