Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

running of the catering operation on site looking after 2 kitchens and 2 teams. ordering stock, completing stock takes, staff training, helping the team on the ground, writing and costing function menus, running functions with BOH team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i have completed 1 apprenticeship since working for compass and i am currently on my second apprenticeship, it has helped my confidence grow and expanded my knowledge base to help me grow in my career. since my first apprenticeship i was promoted from head chef in one unit to site executive chef looking after both the units on site.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have developed skills in managing people and support them on their apprenticeship journeys. my confidence has grown in my role and feel i am better equipped to deal with any problems i may face in daily challenges within my role.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

communication on my current apprenticeship is excellent i know what i am doing and what is expected of me throughout the whole program and i have full support when ever i need it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

i have full support from my employer from both my direct line manager and also my regional peers. the apprenticeship team are also there if ever i need them and are quick to respond to any queries or questions i have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

lots of support. I have regular face to faces and responds to any emails the same day.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

i have been involved in providing work experience for young adults with special needs and i have also been involved in a junior chef academy teaching teenagers to cook on a 6 week program.
