Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
The tasks i do on a day-to-day basis vary. Usually, it consists of some sort of programme procurement and ensuring the contractor works are on track for PC and Handover in order to make the client happy. But i could also be on site ensuring works are being complete and all stakeholders are on the same page.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy this programme very much as it allows me to get classroom and on the job experience. The people have been very welcoming which has allowed me the thrive. The job accompanies the idea of hybrid learning, allowing me to work in the office, at home and on site which i love. Overall, this programme is ideal for someone like me who has little experience in the industry as it allows me to gain knowledge form real experiences.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Looking back i have learnt so much compared to when i started. From the little things such as writing an email correctly all the way to being able to run my own project. The knowledge which you gain from the university and the workplace allows you to pick up thing at a rapid pace because you can utilize what you've learnt and apply it to real world scenarios.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
This programme is extremely organised and is structure to benefit us. This is due to the fact it gives us time to learn and prepare for university exams/assignments. Also, your employers understand that your workload needs to be regulated so you can fit everything in. It has the perfect balance of work and education; we have a day allocated to university once a week and then rest of the week is in the workplace. This structure allows us the constantly improve our competency as we learn new skills every week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is lots of supports available within my workplace. Us apprentices all have an assigned workplace mentor who is there to support you within your job role. This has been extremely helpful to my progression as i am able to ask questions constantly which is the best way of learning. The business environment is very supportive; all of my colleagues are happy to help me with anything that i may be struggling with and i feel as though i can go to any of them for support of advice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
There is loads of support available for you. If you need support, you can email student support services in order to gain any sort of help or support. You can also talk to your tutor and i have found they are always happy to help with any issue that emerge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The training provider support definitely has a positive impact on my job performance. I feel as though it has enabled me to grow and learn much faster as we are able to take the things we learn and apply it within the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there is always an upcoming event. I represent Monaghans in a business 7 a side league and also have played in business fives competitions. There is always charity events happening and different seasonal celebration activities.
