Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
I rotate teams every 3 months, and in each placement I get stuck in with their tasks. For example, I've currently done recruitment and in each one I have got really involved with the whole process.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy it. I've done so much cool stuff since starting. It's good because you're not treated like "oh you're an apprentice so you just sit and watch" you actually do get involved with everything. And everyone is so lovely, its been so easy making loads of friends.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Definitely. I've learnt so many things, from safeguarding training, LinkedIn searching, excel skills, and communicating professionally with stakeholders and candidates.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

4/5
It is organised but I find the BPP website a little hard to navigate, and when getting feedback on an assignment, it can sometimes be a bit brief so i find myself struggling to know what i actually need to improve on because i dont always understand the feedback.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
My employer is so supportive. My line manager is aware of all of my deadlines and submissions, and is always around to talk if i have any worries, as well as letting me take an hour or two to do my assignment on a work day if im extremely stressed about getting it done in time.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
My coach in particular is great. She always replies to my emails quickly and will set up calls if im worried about something or need support. I don't hear from anyone else, but my coach gives all the support I need so thats fine.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
I learn alot about HR from my qualification, so it is easy to apply to my role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
Yes, there are apprentice social events every month, as well as wider events available quite often.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?

Yes

Why?

It's so fun, enjoyable, everyone is friendly, and you end up doing stuff you would never have imagined.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?

Be yourself. Don't pretend to know everything. They don't want people who already know everything, they just want people who are willing to learn the rest.
