Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

During my apprenticeship at United Utilities I worked in the income department as a credit controller. My role provided excellent customer service to our customers across the North West whilst retrieving outstanding balances and resolving customer queries/issues. This was done by working with teams within the department and problem solving.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship, starting with the first wee when all new apprentices went to the Outward bound trust in the lake district to help boost team work skills and help build a network between young professionals in the company. I have also worked in a positive team in my role and built a healthy network between all areas of the business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have massively improved my communication skills both verbally and written which has helped in the quality of my service. Additionally I have also developed my problem solving skills and gave me a proactive mindset when completing work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure of the programme was very good and I was given plenty of time to complete my assignments and attend my online lessons. Along with this I have learnt from experienced colleagues and working on the job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I was offered a great level of support by my manger, performance coaches and my apprenticeship learning tutor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I had regular meetings with my apprenticeship tutor to keep track of progress and discuss any concerns I may have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has helped boost my communication skills and helped maintain high levels of customer service.
