Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
as an apprentice I do placements around different teams to get a good oversight into the business and the different manufacturing roles. I have worked in: logistics, workshop setup, dashboard creation, training departments on a new system, launch of a new vehicle, working with technicians in the workshop, and ADAS (Automated Driver Assistance Systems). I usually take on a new project in these different placements and it is very rewarding to see my output add value to the team and business as a whole
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love the variety of roles I have taken on and the immense opportunities I have. The placements have given me a real insight into what department I'd want to work in once I graduate

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I had never used CAD before but my current project relies heavily on it; this has made me a lot more confident in using this tool. This is simply 1 example of the extent of skills I have developed

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very organised. We have meetings every 10-12 weeks with our manager and apprentice tutor to ensure we are on track and my projects align with the general criteria of the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have weekly 1-1's with my line manager and I know I can report any issues if they ever do arise
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I regularly stay in contact with my apprentice tutor who helps guide me
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
A lot of the topics we learn about at university have actually helped a lot with some of the projects I have worked on
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are always apprentice social events and team events at work to get stuck into

Yes
Why?
It is a very diverse and friendly workplace. The salary is competitive and it is just an overall really exciting company to be able to work for
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Research the company and their goals and make sure they align with yours. JLR is a very big company so try to pick a field you like but- because it's so big- you will have an opportunity to work in a different team if you wish to do so
