Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As porters we do a variety of jobs from transferring patients, to delivering and collecting equipment (e.g. beds, mattresses), gases and a lot more. Its a physical job but it is very rewarding and enjoyable.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My apprenticeship is very good, i'm learning a lot of new things which is helping me become better every day.

Ever since starting the job in 2023 i'm always learning because the job was completely new to me as i'd never worked in a hospital so i'm always learning and the job is always evolving slightly so you keep learning everyday

I feel very supported from my supervisors to my managers, there doors are always open if i need anything or have any questions, and they are flexible when you need support
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support, i have weekly catch ups with my manager and they always make sure i have time to complete all my tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I can a lot of support and backing from my training provider, if i have any questions they usually reply with in an hour and are very knowledgeable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It will help in my role as it will put me in a strong position if and when progression opportunities arise i will be a strong candidate because of the skills and knowledge it has given me.

Would you recommend Compass group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good work environment, we can have a good laugh and have good banter, in-between jobs and mostly a laid back place to work however the work is intense at times but it is also so rewarding
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Compass group?
Be open-minded, flexible, hard working, dedicated, willing to learn, be able to work solo and problem solve but also don't be afraid to ask questions
