Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role involves creating detail community newsletters to keep the neighbours surrounding our sites up to date on the construction progress, provide them with a point of contact if they would like to reach out and to make them aware of any potential disruption from upcoming works.
I also play a key role in coordinating site events such as groundbreaking ceremonies, resident meetings and helping plan large company events alongside the PR Manager.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the creative and social aspect of my role and get along very well with my team who are always supportive and help me learn as i work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Joining my role straight from school meant I knew very little about construction and PR. Since being here I have developed my graphic design and writing skills massively. Completing my degree part time whilst also working full time has greatly increased my time management and organisation skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The part time degree fits well around my full time employment roll, I just take scheduled days out of the office as per my timetable. During university breaks for the holidays I attend the office five days per week instead.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My team are very supportive and accommodating to my uni schedule. They allow me the time I need to attend study sessions and work on my assignments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The course team at Derby University are readily available to answer any questions I have and to schedule meetings with me if I need any in depth support. I do however feel slightly overlooked by the University as a part time student, content is always generalised to those attending a full time degree.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps to understand concepts within my course when I am able to see them unfold or be applied in real time to real life situations that I come across in my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I get on great with my immediate team and we often organise social activities outside of work. It could be said there is a lack of company organised opportunities to socialise with others across the group.
