Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Project Management role, involving all of Compass Groups business sectors. The projects would be hospitality focused and educational strategy focused from a Social Mobility perspective. On a day-to-day basis the role would involve a balance of Teams and in-person meetings, partnership meetings and internal stakeholder management. Overall highly rewarding and very enjoyable!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
An inspiring experience, I love learning and this opportunity provided the perfect opportunity to develop my knowledge, skills and confidence, through my qualification while getting the opportunity to apply my developing skills through my role. I really feel that I've grown as a result!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've really developed my leadership skills and people management and I've become more efficient in how I manage projects always leading to positive impacts and results in my work. I've also developed from a wellbeing perspective, learning the importance of a healthy work/life balance which makes me more productive and more energetic in my work.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured in terms of my learning experience and the planning and support I receive is excellent. I feel like I've been allowed to grow and my tutor's / trainers have been very supportive especially when I've had questions and queries.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer has been very supportive since the start, there's a real 'people culture' which I feel has significantly helped me grow in my self-confidence and ability to perform to my best in my role and apply the learnings from my qualification.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I couldn't be happier with my training provider. From the pre-enrolment stage and the advice and guidance I received, to the onboarding stage and well planned classes and 121 sessions, everything has been very enjoyable. I even receive wellbeing touchpoint calls from my employer within our Apprenticeship Team and they frequently check-in with me to ensure I'm fully supported and enjoying the experience.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
From when I first started to now, I feel that my knowledge, skills and confidence have significantly developed, but also the learning experience from my training provider has been fun and enjoyable! I am a much stronger version of myself and I've improved in how I do my job because my apprenticeship and my training provider have all enabled this to happen for me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, we have different working groups and social groups and there's always the opportunity for professional networking through different internal event and partnership / sector events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Compass group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There's a real family feel to working at Compass and a 'people culture' that is lived everyday. The one thing I've noticed about Compass is that despite it being the largest Hospitality Catering organisation in the UK, everyone cares and everyone are very supportive. I can reach out to colleagues across the UK and the culture of support to help each other is brilliant! Everyday feel's enjoyable and the career pathways at Compass make me feel like I'm at the right company, I hope to stay for many years.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Compass group?
It's good to learn about Compass Groups different business sectors through their website as they operate across many area's including in healthcare, education, sports stadiums and arena's, fine dining restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, offices and factory environments and these are just some examples. Also, I recommend checking Compass Groups careers page as even though Compass are a hospitality and catering company, there are lots of other job roles including, IT, Digital, Finance, HR, Learning & Development, Business Admin etc... and these are just some examples. I hope this helps!
