Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I have undertaken several placements across different teams. Currently, I am part of the Future World Design team within Research & Development. In my present role, I work within the business team, where I support the day-to-day operation of multiple projects. This includes overseeing projects, conducting market analysis, and contributing to broader strategic and operational activities across the department.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme. The culture is extremely welcoming and supportive, which makes it a great environment to work in. I have a strong work–life balance, and I’m constantly learning new skills and developing professionally, which helps me feel confident that I’m progressing in my career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well organised and structured. There is a clear framework in place, with scheduled placements, regular check-ins with managers and mentors- this includes Tripartite meetings with line manager and academic mentor frequently. All of that feeds into my defined learning objectives that align with my development. This structure helps me understand expectations while still allowing flexibility to explore different areas, making the overall experience both supportive and effective.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a high level of support from my employer. I have regular check-ins with my line manager and access to mentors who provide guidance on both my role and my wider development. I have two scheme advisors who are always open to help and support at any given time, There are also strong support networks within the organisation, alongside opportunities for training and learning, which help me feel supported, encouraged, and confident in my progress throughout the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive strong support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. They provide regular guidance through review meetings, structured learning materials, and clear feedback on assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My learning has overlaps with my day-to-day responsibilities but not entirely. This isn't something that I have an issue with because whilst I can apply theoretical knowledge directly to real-world work situations, I also have the opportunity to learn new things through direct work experience.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, the BBC offers a wide range of events to get involved in throughout the year. There are various communities that you can join to network and connect with colleagues across the organisation, as well as regular industry events and talks. I actively enjoy attending these opportunities, as they support both professional development and wider engagement within the organisation.
