Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work within the purchase ledge side of the finance team handling emails that are sent in by suppliers and staff members while also processing and keeping on top of orders and invoices, I also take care of the schools energy billing and consumption which is required for us to complete our yearly carbon reports. On top of that I also help out with preparing the accruals for month ends and the journals to evidence them.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I quite enjoy my programme, I originally started of at Level 3 which I have passed and I am nearing the end of Level 4. It has taken a lot of time and effort for me to be where I am currently at and I have embraced the challenges and hurdles that have come along the way.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed quite a few new skills during my apprenticeship, I am able to organise my work depending on urgency or how close the deadline is to complete them, I am able to confidently work both independently and as a team, I have developed a questioning mind and I have gained that practical experience of what it is like to use accounting systems. I would say one thing that I was good at but has developed a lot has been my use of digital application like Word and Excel.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My apprenticeship is well structured, topics are spread out across the timeframe of the apprenticeship and I have an online lesson every two weeks with a tutor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support, I know my line manager is available for whenever I have a question in regards to something and I also have one day a week focused on my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a lot of study resources from my training provider and I know my tutor will also help me with any questions I have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think its significantly important as they go hand in hand together, in this case by doing my apprenticeship I have a greater understanding of the processes we have in place at Maritime.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are lots of social activities and days out I have been involved in at the trust.
