Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Fully integrating with a working team. Joining them in daily stand ups and meetings. Provided with your own project and goals to fulfil over the course of the internship.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

A lot! I supported massively, but also left to get on with my work and I felt responsible and trusted in the work I would submit. I felt like a real and valued member of the team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Developed skills in Scrum Development Methodology, Java, React, SpringBoot and inter personal skills like communication and team work. The learning series also allowed me to learn about presentation skills, emotional intelligence and things like mental health.

Plenty. I had a really helpful and supportive team and on top of that the early careers team were extremely helpful and accommodating.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Very inclusive, diverse and supportive. I really loved the culture here, everyone is willing to help and very friendly. The office always has intercultural events on and tries very hard to celebrate everyone.
