Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Compass group?
My overall experience has been positive, I have received support for a developing career. I have only had one bad experience during my previous role in unit, where the incident was reported to the unit manager and regional to be dealt with.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I am responsible for improving compliance and pay handling through KPIs for OurTime within WFM. I enjoy site visits, seeing managers in person and seeing their business front hand.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

The 'perks at work' Compass program is not user friendly at all and more time wasting than financially beneficial. However a car and a bonus is a great package as part of my role specifically.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I think the role is developing skills that I never used before and I am seeing a new side to Compass which I hadn't experienced beforehand.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I am always learning, whether new functions on the system I teach or new upgrades to the system or where I am asked to be apart of a project. My excel skills have vastly improved as part of my role and future roles.

How is the support you receive?

I have positive support from my managers and my team. They handle issues as a group and I have the assurance that any mistakes will be managed to fix and I won't be put down for it.
How is your work-life balance?

I struggle to balance exercise and have full rest when I am on a lot of site visits or when we have big projects to work on. Deadlines do create stress to meet in time. I am responsible for my own work time and I do have the option to take TOIL days as suitable.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

A positive atmosphere has been created within my team for any personal issues or workload issues where the team will help to contribute towards the tasks/projects. We have team calendars for where we are on site visits to track where each member of the team are to check they are safe.
How would you rate Compass group initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Compass always work towards inclusion and diversity, posters and support programs are always advocated.
How would you rate Compass group CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

Compass are always striving to get net zero and post community posts where units have supported the commmunity.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I required confirmation on what a junior business partner does compared to a full business partner when I started. However the role has been positive and supported along the way.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Compass group?
I would advise to be patient as the systems are slow at processing new starters.
