Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As Senior Business Manager, I partner closely with the leadership team to connect strategy to execution across a complex, global regulatory organisation. I provide end‑to‑end business management across finance, headcount, governance, portfolio planning, and communications, ensuring priorities are clearly defined, resources are aligned, and delivery remains on track.
I play a central role in driving operational cadence and leadership effectiveness, enabling informed decision‑making, supporting regulatory transformation initiatives, and strengthening cross‑functional collaboration. Through structured governance, clear storytelling, and disciplined follow‑through, I help translate strategic intent into tangible outcomes while fostering a people‑centric, partnership‑led culture.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have greatly enjoyed the programme. While demanding alongside a full‑time role, it has been extremely rewarding. The balance of academic theory and practical application has strengthened my leadership capability, sharpened my critical thinking, and directly enhanced my effectiveness in role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes. I have developed a number of new skills while significantly strengthening existing ones. In particular, I have enhanced my strategic thinking, critical analysis, and leadership capability, alongside greater confidence in applying academic theory to complex, real‑world business challenges. The programme has also strengthened my ability to communicate with impact, influence stakeholders, and lead with greater self‑awareness and intent.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well organised overall, with a clear framework and defined expectations. While it is demanding alongside professional responsibilities, the structure supports progressive learning and enables meaningful application of theory into practice.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received a high level of support from my employer, including leadership encouragement, flexibility around study commitments, and a strong emphasis on embedding learning into real‑world business activity.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received a high level of support from my training provider throughout the programme. This included clear guidance on academic expectations, structured teaching, and timely, constructive feedback. The consistent support provided enabled me to manage the demands of the programme effectively alongside professional responsibilities and supported both my academic progress and professional development.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification has supported me significantly in performing more effectively in my role. It has strengthened my strategic thinking, critical analysis, and leadership capability, while building on my existing experience through the use of structured frameworks and evidence‑based approaches. The learning has been highly relevant and directly applicable, enabling me to translate theory into practical outcomes and positively influence how I approach complex organisational and leadership challenges.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes. There are a wide range of extra‑curricular activities available within the organisation, with regular opportunities to get involved beyond core role responsibilities. These include professional networking and development events, colleague resource groups, engagement initiatives, and social or community‑focused activities. There is a strong culture of inclusion and participation, and colleagues are actively encouraged to engage in activities that support connection, learning, and personal development.
