Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have been able to develop a number of soft skills such as communication, teamwork and confidence presenting. Additionally, I have developed by scientific writing through working on abstracts, infographics, posters and papers. I have also learnt how to use new digital tools such as AI and video editing software.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

From the first day of my placement I have received support and guidance. Initially from the careers team via the early careers induction programme, and later on from my team and manager. Everyone is very keen to help and offer advice.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is very supportive and encouraging. It is easy to each out to colleagues from other teams to learn about their roles or gain work experience. There are also a number of colleague resource groups you are able to get involved in.
