Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I currently work for 2 teams helping both out with numerous tasks that vary from day to day. Most commonly I do project based work on pedestrian crossing assessments and how we can improve pedestrian facilities and collision investigation studies where we analyse a specific location where several collisions have happened in a short time period and make changes to reduce the number of collisions
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The support and people around me are amazing and there is always new things that I am learning that challenge me and broaden my knowledge

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a number of new skills from CAD to public speaking and presentation skills which will all help me as I progress through my apprenticeship

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured. I am on a rotation through the council and will work in several different teams during my time working there to find what suits me best.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I often have meetings to discuss my workload to ensure I am not getting overwhelmed with how much work I have. They also help me when I need help with anything that I ask about.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Currently I have not needed much help with my qualification as I have been familiar with all the content. I have needed some software to complete my coursework and they have ensured that I get this so I can complete the work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are often CPD sessions at work and I try my best to attend them when I can.
