Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Completing testing and reviewing areas of the financial accounts, this could include revenue, purchases, assets or liabilities. When completing this testing it is the auditors responsibility to make sure the accounts are both true and fair. Speaking with senior management daily from a range of different businesses such as listed clients, large corporates, charities and schools.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes - you are pushed by the team to take ownership and responsibility of individuals and areas of the audit.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
During the placement there was a wide range of support from groups at the firm to having an individual line manager and buddy. These would be frequent catch ups to discuss progress as well as other things.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The firm were incredibly inclusive providing a diverse environment. They hosted many social events to help interact with people in different teams as well as your own.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I had a great time on my placement, I would recommend this to anyone looking to start a career in accounting/finance. RSM provide an excellent environment to allow people to flourish whilst providing opportunities to work on some very exciting and interesting clients.

Work hard and take opportunities when they come. Try not to be nervous just be yourself and do plenty of research.
