Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I was a Production Apprentice based in Carlisle at BBC Radio Cumbria, which was the ideal learning location because no two days ever looked the same. Being based at a local radio station meant I got to delve into pretty much everything. One day I might have been shooting, editing, or uploading content for social media; the next I could have been producing a show or working on ops as we went live. Aside from the chaos of the role, our main priority was creating local content for various BBC Cumbria platforms.

I was lucky enough to have got a job at the end pf the scheme, which I would not have been applicable for at the beginning of the scheme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Make sure you already consume BBC content and feel passionate about creating, as these are two essential traits for the apprenticeship scheme.
