Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

A huge variety of jobs to completely throughout the day. The main priorities would be working stock, date checking and rotation, merchandising, serving customer through either self-checkout assistance or on a till.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

There’s always something to do to keep you busy so the shifts go nice and quick. Always learning new things due to the experience of the senior management and I am in an environment where i am encouraged to progress as far as i can

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My confidence has significantly improved during my time here as i’ve learned to deal with new issues and learnt from them. Customer service skills are always refined the more i work with them day-to-day and my confidence with running a store is increasing the more i learn

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Management in store are available for support at all times during a shift. And my apprentice coach is a phone call away should i run into any problems.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Good support from majority of people within the organisation and i feel confident enough to reach out for support if needed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have always been well informed with what is expected of me during my apprenticeship and my coach has prepared me well for my upcoming end point assessments
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I can transfer the skills i learn in my training directly into my job and it gives me the perfect opportunity to improve everyday whilst navigating through my coursework
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Some training courses however they aren’t regular. every 4-6 months in my experience. Social events created between staff such as days out but nothing by the company

Very good pay. Opportunities to succeed and progress through the career ladder. Always opportunities available as long as you put the work in
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
You have to be hardworking and determined. The job can be a lot if you aren’t used to a fast paced environment however it is a brilliant place to succeed if you fit the criteria.
