Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day role depends on the team I am in, as my apprenticeship invloves doing 5, 6month rotations so i spend 6 months in a certain department, before moving to another. This is great because you get a real view of different departments, for example I have been able to learn that I did not enjoy a sales based role, but I am now in strategy and operations which I love, and I get to be involved in many initiates planning the strategy and predicted revenue for all the clusters around europe.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme, as it allows you to see and experience differetn things, which is invaluable to someone so early in their career as you cannot know what you like or what goes in day to day in a department until you've tried it for yourself. The atmosphere and culture of the company is also genuinely great and I am given so many opportunities.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned SO many new skills, when I joined straight from school I did not know how to use an email properly, I have learned huge amounts of soft and hard skills in corporate life, and now i have the chance to present business ideas to senior leaders

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Overall very well organised, we are rotated smoothly between different teams of our own choice, and checked in on by the HR/early careers team regularly, often given the chance to give and receive feedback on our rotations.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Overall very supported, we are managed by an early careers/hr team who look after us and manage our rotations, our extra learning and development, and feedback on our progress at university.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider is good, I think your experience is dependent on your assigned training manager, I am lucky to have a really great guy who really cares and will always be around to offer support and answer questions.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Yes some of the modules line up well with my corporate work, and some of the technical and writing excerises are very useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there are plenty of employee resource groups that organise very many activities, also the early careers/hr team organise social evenings and activities for us early careers groups

Would you recommend Visa to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because I feel that I am well looked after, given good opportunities, supported to learn by many people who genuinely care, and I get the opportunity to really understand my own career preferences through rotations.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Visa?
It's not about being an expert, it's about being an enthusiastic young person who's willing to learn.
