Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am in my final rotation of the degree apprenticeship in global marketing on the commercial side. My role involves working on events Visa sponsor, helping get content onto social media and the website, reporting on marketing leads/data, helping with contracts for events, supporting in filming customer videos.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I somewhat enjoy the programme- i do feel some of the choices in where you can rotate are somewhat limited. I like the weekly study day we have to help with our degree. I think the early careers team are supportive too.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed lots of skills and learnt new ones such as presentation skills, organisational skills, cross collaboration skills with various agencies, data skills, time management
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think having lots of rotations and then an 18 month long rotation is good as you get to experience multiple sides of the business and build lots of diverse connections. However, i think some of the options for teams are career limiting in avoiding HR/marketing teams in favour of higher growth areas. I also think that rolling off as an analyst in a team can also be limiting as there isn't much option for change/movement.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive moderate support from my employer- me and my manager meet weekly but sometimes i don't feel fully included in projects/team meetings/external meetings or know fully what's going on. I also feel sometimes the workload drops in and out and is sometimes more admin based.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I would say we receive somewhat support from the training provider- we have monthy 1-2-1 meets and have one or two workshops per module. However, i feel those workshops aren't very proactive- usually put in breakout rooms where no one is very productive for around 60% of the workshop. Would rather it be more assignment driven. I sometimes also feel feedback on assignments isn't always fully thought out
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think the degree does help in aspects regarding some modules but i do think the content is fairly generic and not super applicable to my BAU day to day roles. e.g i never use any content from the finance or mentoring/coaching module in my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are social activities that occur around 3 times a year and we do have a football team but it's not early careers focused (just visa focused). we do have networking events and speaker sessions and ERG's too.

Yes

I do feel it's a good place to start your career and there are lots of opportunities/areas of the business to explore.
