Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to act as an account manager and work with suppliers to purchase their scrap metal whether it be ferrous or non-ferrous. I work with the transport team to organise bin drop offs and collections and the operations team to manage the material once it arrives at site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme is excellent, management is very supportive and helpful. A very strong team here and there is always someone to help with the inevitable problems you encounter learning a complex industry.

EMR goes above and beyond to involve apprentices in events outside of the regular workday, in my time I have been to 3, with more on the horizon.

EMR is a great place to work and there is plenty of opportunity to grow and develop.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EMR?
EMR is a huge business within an even larger industry, if you do not have prior experience in the world of recycling it will be a lot to learn to begin with. Stick with it, ask questions, and learn to lean on the team around you when you need to.
