Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

This role involves learning local radios production process, I have the opportunity to explore all different teams from producing different live shows, writing online news articles and interviewing people.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have next to no knowledge of how radio is produced before starting this apprenticeship, I have developed confidence interviewing people, writing scripts for presenters and learning how to write in BBC style.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Its well organised in terms of schedule, where I need to be and when my training days / blocks fall.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot of support, any problems I have I feel the team and program leads are approachable and helpful with any issues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I recieve a great deal of support from my line manager in balancing training days with working days. I get enough time as I need to work on projects and finish before deadlines.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The training I have recieved so far from my training provider has been excellent in helpinng me learn about the industry from a widr perspective and not just in local radio but in TV, Film and National Radio.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The BBC is an inclusive and supportive place to work and a great place to learn as well, everyone is keen to help you develop skills and to gain experience.
The amount of experience on offer is endless and there are so many different opportunities within the BBC. Whether you have media experience or not the BBC has a place for everyone to develop their skills.
