Allows me to be involved in tasks that truly interest me and allows me to utilize skills (mainly excel) to streamline processes and tasks required for this role.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Been able to develop further skills in excel within this role. Able to perform more advanced formulas and present results in better formats to make easier to explain financial concepts to team members who do not have a deep financial background.
Additionally, this role has enabled me to enhance my communication skills by being exposed to a wider range of stakeholders both internal and external to the company.

Time was spent at college 2 days a week, however was not a lot of communication and check in from company as I progressed through my course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Could always reach out to Line Manager if ever had any questions relating to course content, however not any formal check in points within course.

The course covered off a lot of the concepts that I utilize in my role in a day to day basis. Allowed me to gain an understanding back background knowledge of key financial concepts.

Why?
I think that compass is very good at promoting and training their existing team members. There is a lot of opportunity for advancement, so even if you join the company at a junior role, there is opportunity to learn and development.
Additionally, Compass is trialing new technology constantly, so lots of additional learning opportunities.

Don't be afraid to reach outside your comfort zone to explore new opportunities.
