I am the Engineering Manager, responsible for leading a team of 31 engineers and setters, covering both facilities and production line set-up. We operate within the cosmetics industry, which is fast-paced and constantly evolving, requiring a flexible and responsive approach to both maintenance and production support.
My role involves ensuring the site runs efficiently and reliably by overseeing both reactive and planned engineering activities, while also supporting production to meet demand. I play a key role in driving improvement projects, focusing on cost reduction, increasing line efficiency, and enhancing overall performance.
A significant part of my role is developing and supporting the team, including apprentices, ensuring they have the skills, training, and guidance needed to succeed. I also work closely with cross-functional departments such as production, quality, and planning to ensure alignment, effective communication, and smooth operations across the site.

I really enjoyed my programme; it has given me the skills to really kick on in my position. I've learnt a lot about the tools required for management, and it has given me the confidence to deal with challenging situations.
