Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role was support for the trade marketing team- asset management, admin, creating powerpoints to evaluate events, tracking feedback.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I struggled with the learning provider- a seminar once a month was a lot of information to consume in one, and was very targeted to B2C marketing, rather than a mix of B2C and B2B. The job role itself was a brilliant opportunity, and my team were very supportive of my learning and development. Something that I think could improve the apprenticeship is to be able to rotate- that would support building a network in the business, growing confidence and learning a variety of different skills and marketing experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Definitely- basic office skills such as PowerPoint and Excel but also event planning and operational delivery, stakeholder management, budget planning and tracking.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It was relatively structured- however sometimes materials were hard to find and not up to date.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
They have been brilliant.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
They were supportive
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
It wasn't particularly relevant to B2B marketing at all.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are- the office has a pay bar once a month and there are some sports teams I believe

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a supportive environment with a lot of opportunities to grow professionally and learn new skills. 80/20s, hot shoes and shadowing are great ways to learn about other sides of the business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BBC?
Try to be authentic in your application- that shows through. Bring some life experiences as well as educational/ professional achievements to demonstrate that you are well-rounded. Also, try to come with opinions and ideas about the BBC, content or media in general that you could offer to the role.
